Fire Department

Goodhue’s Fire Department was organized as part of the city in 1898. Fire fighting has changed a lot from the bucket brigade to the trucks and equipment we have these days.

At this time, the City of Goodhue is part of a Joint Powers Agreement that is serviced by the Goodhue Fire Truck Association.  The Truck Association also provides their services to area townships. The department has 26 members who are trained as First Responders as well as fire fighting. They respond to approximately 25 fires a year and 100 medical or vehicle emergencies annually.

Fire Truck Association meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month for training and a department meeting and again on the third Tuesday for more training.
